In December, LeadingAge Ohio wrapped up the second “QIP Collaborative,” a six-month education series focused entirely on boosting the quality incentive payment, a component of the Medicaid nursing facility formula. Join the teams from LeadingAge Ohio and Squared Business Solutions to learn how 28 organizations drove a projected $5.8 million in projected Medicaid reimbursement back into their budgets.

Over the six-month span, the average QIP score of organizations participating in the Collaborative rose from 10.4 to 15.2 points, with eight organizations that previously did not receive the QIP because they were below the 25th percentile seeing their score rise above that threshold. Presuming no significant changes to either the QIP calculation or the price-per-point and holding steady each organization’s Medicaid days, the gains made by the 28 facilities participation in the Collaborative tops $5.8 million, or an average 138:1 return on investment.

LeadingAge Ohio’s QIP Collaborative has become an annual occurrence, with the next Collaborative scheduled to run from July to December of 2023.
